I’ve started a pretty hard workout program on Thursday, I was working out on my own but without a lot structure. A structure program is easier for me to follow from my past experience. I grew up playing hockey from when I was a small child till a late teenager. I decided to stop playing competitive and went to a mens rec league and continued to play until my car accident in 2006. I’m still waiting for clearances to play hockey again but it should come soon. Pretty much all my physical issues have been resolved and has stayed away for around 6 months now. Yahh! I have clearance to work out and my only restriction is to avoid certain sports for now.
The one thing I loved about playing competitive sports was your training was determined for you. You had game days, practice days and then off ice training. You simply showed up and did what you were told. You didn’t have to worry about much except giving it your all. I loved how it didn’t even seem like working out, it was simply fun with your team.
Since structure works best for me and I don’t want to spend thousands on a trainer, I’ve found a program that has a schedule already made up, intense, changes and all you simply have to do is follow it. As an additional incentives, PG will be rewarding or punishing me based on my effort which adds a sexy twist to it. He seems to take pleasure in seeing me in pain from the working out. Plus, since it’s something that I want to do, it makes him happy to see me doing it.
My love for tracking, organizing and spreadsheets will make it easy to keep on track and for him to check as well. It should be fun and even though by body is sore, I love the feeling of it.
