Finding restraints that are both secure and sustainable to wear can be a challenge. Police-type metal hand and leg cuffs lock solidly, but can bruise, particularly if the subject struggles or is on their back with their hands behind them. Leather cuffs offer a wide, pressure-dispersing hold, but most attach belt-buckle style and can be undone by a bratty bottom. These leather cuffs offer the best of both worlds: the comfort of wide bands, together with the option to lock them by securing your own padlocks through the metal staples (the cuffs have a series of slots, so that the leather itself functions as a hasp). If you don’t have or want to use padlocks, you can slip the integral leather strips through the staples to secure the cuffs.
For our play, we improvised by locking metal handcuffs and leg cuffs through the staples. It worked, but padlocks and chains would let you lock the padlocks into whichever links of the chains you wanted to control the bottom’s range of motion more precisely. They would also be lower profile and more comfortable for hands-behind-the-back-lying-on-the-back positions. (Pro suggestion: get a set of four or more padlocks that are keyed alike; that way you won’t be fumbling to match locks and keys in an emergency or when playtime’s over.)
For our review, we started with Alpine face down in a classic hog-tie position. Purely in the interests of proper product testing, I had to ensure she had a sincere incentive to struggle, so I applied a violet wand to her. On her butt, this resulted in only giggles. On her inner thighs, it made for determined, if unavailing, escape attempts.
After a good (for me), long session of this, I sat Alpine in a metal-framed tall chair, and locked her wrists by her sides and her ankles to a lower rung. I applied several dozen clothespins to her breasts and thighs, let them sit for some time, then twisted off each one in a way calculated to induce maximum sensation. In between removals, I scratched her up with a fid and ran a wartenberg wheel around her. So with the best submissive intentions, she was still forced to thrash. The cuffs held firm.
These cuffs are a stiffer leather, and are not lined with either a softer inner leather or faux fur, so they did chafe a bit over the course of our play. In fairness, we should note that this was a multi-hour session that involved a lot of struggling and that the chafing wasn’t raw or red, and was far less severe than metal cuffs or hemp rope would have caused. We liked the numerous slots for the staples, which let us size the cuffs precisely for a secure fit that didn’t impede blood circulation. Overall, we give them two thumbs (or whatever appendage) up. “
PG words describes the Kinklab leather wrist cuffs and the Kinklab leather ankle cuffs perfectly. As he mentioned they don’t have the soft lining inside but for under $30 each, they are a great buy for those just getting into BDSM or even for those more experienced. They have adjustable sizes which makes it suitable for people of all wrist and ankle sizes.

I totally didn’t even consider these lockable. How silly am I!
