The Human Pony by Rebecca Wilcox was just what I was looking for. I didn’t know much about pony play until my parter, PG and one of my friends talked about it. I did some research on my own but I couldn’t find enough on it. I wanted a book or a very comprehensive web site. I wasn’t sure that I would like pony play but I decided to try it and ended up falling in love with it. I ended up buying The Human Pony book for PG as a gift for a special day. The Human Pony

Here are his thoughts: Whether or not the idea of pony play is hot for you (it’s very hot for Alpine and I), you will probably enjoy this book. It goes into great detail not only about the how, but also the why, with extended sidebars where both trainers and ponies talk in the first person/first pony about what makes pony play work for them. If you’re into pony play, you’ll be able to relate. If you’re not, it should still give you some fascinating insights into the people who are, and their motives and rituals. Think of it as field anthropology researching a wonderfully weird tribe.

For those of us who are into human ponies, there is plenty of “how to” with in-depth ideas on training and caring for the physical and mental needs of your little (or otherwise) pony.

Complementing all the great text are inspiring and beautiful photos that are art in their own right. This could totally be a coffee table book (depending on who you have over for coffee). It would certainly be a conversation starter.”

Later, I ended up having the chance of getting my own copy to review. As someone who is new to pony play, I found the book to be a perfect introduction.  The various chapters include an introduction, what is Pony Play, Pony and Trainer Headspace, Equipment, Training your Pony, Scene Development, Handling and Grooming, The Inspiration – The Horse, Event Planning: Do It Yourself, Conclusion as well as Appendixes.  The photography is erotic with plenty of opportunities to admire. There are also real life experiences that added to all the knowledge that is provided.

The Human Pony gave me the opportunity to start learning more about a new loved kink. It’s a perfect place to expand my mindset and allow me to be a better pony girl.
